Huffpost Personal Article from a DBI Client

This beautiful article by DBI client Tracy details her experiences with her pandemic puppy, as well as the current work that she is doing with us to treat her dog Beau’s separation anxiety. Separation anxiety is such a common challenge for dogs. The good news is that it is very treatable! There is a large body of research that supports systematic desensitization as the treatment of choice for separation anxiety with a high level of success when implemented correctly. That being said, systematic desensitization is a slow and demanding process, often involving plateaus and regression. With consistency and data-based decision-making though, dogs who experience separation anxiety have a strong prognosis. You can read a little bit about Tracy’s experience with this towards the end of this lovely article.
